Different mediums can be calming and soothing in their own way. For me, music is something I depend on when I’m in various moods or feeling different feelings. Music can evoke different emotions based on the sound, the lyrics and the person or people who are singing. So, I am sharing a playlist of music that is good for the soul. For this week, I want to encourage you to think of different songs that evoke different emotions for you, and perhaps make your own playlist that represents that.

Music That Is Good for the Soul

In my work practice, I find that one way to connect to a client can be through music and if it’s difficult for them to connect verbally, perhaps music can be a starting ground. Sharing music can build connections in different types of relationships and also give you insight into a person and their interests. The playlist I’m sharing is full of powerful singers and songwriters. At the bottom of this article, I’ve shared the link to my Spotify link so you can take a listen.

Songs

  • My Girl – The Temptations
  • I Don’t Think About You -Kelly Clarkson
  • Out of My Head – Begonia
  • Hold Me While You Wait – Lewis Capaldi
  • Halo – Beyonce
  • Like I Can – Sam Smith
  • River – Leon Bridges
  • Shelter – Ray Lamontagne
  • You’ve Got The Love – Florence and the Machine
  • Someone New – Hozier
  • Let It Go – James Bay
  • Good As Hell – Lizzo
  • Slow Burn – Kacey Musgraves
  • Best Part- H.E.R. ft Daniel Ceasar
  • Fallingwater – Maggie Rogers
  • For Good- Wicked The Musical

As you can see, I don’t subscribe to one genre of music and will listen to a song based on the power within the lyric or singer. We would love to see what you are listening to, and you are invited to share your playlist links below. Or DM us on Instagram @iamresilientbook with a screenshot of what you’re currently listening to as you read this.
