As the days are getting shorter and the weather is getting colder, we are finding ourselves more drawn to cozy moments and experiences. There is nothing quite like cozying up to a show or a movie with a warm cup of tea or hot chocolate. With so many different streaming services available, we wanted to share with you some of our selections.
Here are some good for the soul shows and specials we are currently checking out:
Brene Brown The Call To Courage (Netflix)
We love Brene Brown and this special focuses on diving deep into choosing courage over comfort. Similar to her TED talks, she captivates the audience in this one-hour special. We had many takeaways after watching.
Couples Therapy (Crave)
This nine-part reality series takes you into the therapy room with different couples. It shows the raw emotion that couples experience. Note: This show is not a substitute for your own therapy, and we strongly recommend if you need support, to reach out to a mental health professional.
Ram Dass, Going Home (Netflix)
Ram Dass is one of the most grounded individuals. This short special focuses on Ram Dass’ life living in Hawaii after having a stroke and being at peace with his life. In addition to this special, we are a fan of Ram Dass’ writing style along with his meditative nature.
The Great Depresh – Gary Gulman (Crave)
Gary Gulman shares his ongoing battle with depression in a comedic and very real way. A front-runner in comedy specials, this left us feeling a new sense of appreciation and gratitude to those who experience depression. This is part comedy special and part documentary.
Period. End of Sentence. (Netflix)
This Oscar-winning documentary explores what it’s like for women who menstruate who don’t have access to feminine hygiene products. It explores what happens when a group of high school students seeks to change that and we know that you will be inspired.
Cozying up by the television is just one way we cope with the cold and winter-like weather. We invite you to share what you’re watching with us by commenting below.
