“Stay ‘prayed up,’ keep positive energy around, speak and do the things necessary in order to manifest your dreams and know that doctors’ words aren’t final.”

In my pursuit of having another child, I was diagnosed with Uterine Cancer and was told the chances of me having another child was very slim. I was devastated at having to stop fertility treatment so I could get treated for cancer.

I was scared and hopeless; diagnosed with stage 1 uterine cancer at the age of 37. I advocated for hormonal therapy along with losing weight and receiving a DNC every 3 months to scrape the lining of my uterus.

All I was focused on was getting my body back to a healthy state so that I could have another child. Coping for me was being as proactive as possible. By April 2018 I was cancer free! Fast forward, I am now eight months pregnant and having my second son in August (2020). I’m 40 and my boys will be 20 years apart.

I practiced resiliency by remaining faithful and doing everything in my power to get healthy again. Stay ‘prayed up’, keep positive energy around, speak and do the things necessary in order to manifest your dreams and know that doctors’ words aren’t final.
