“What happens to you happens for you.”
I had surgery two years ago at the tail end of a really bad relationship after being very stressed for many years at work. I ended up in the hospital with an ulcer and had to remain there for a week with feeding tubes. The doctors told me that my condition was so severe that, had not gone to the hospital when I did, I would have died.
This experience made me realize that what was happening to me, was happening for me. I realized I had to learn to manage my life and manage my expectations. This really helped me to figure out how to navigate life in a different way rather than always pushing forward. I learned to deal with what was happening as opposed to reacting to what was happening. My best advice is to “Zoom Out”. It’s very easy to get caught up in what you want right now and looking at the big picture doesn’t always come naturally.
