Hello, I am Lea Zgheib. I am 15 years old and from Lebanon. I am a cancer survivor.

Cancer,

Let us be realistic, no one hears about the disease except when we think about death. On February 13th, my doctor diagnosed me with Hodgkin Lymphoma cancer. On February 17th I had an operation and implanted a cancer chamber.

And here the story began.

On the 19th of February, I started my treatment first chemotherapy session. It was painful but God has always a purpose to my pain.

“The most difficult thing was shaving my hair. Yes, I lost a lot of friends but also there was a big number of people who were always by my side. Life will not remain the same, but the faith of a person, when they push, clings to God and hand over His command, everything will be easier.”

– Lea

I have faith. I have strength. I do not know from where but I knew that God did not carry a person more than his energy. I began to know if I had faced something difficult in future I would see it as easy to overcome compared to this disease. I turned my eyes on the most important blessings in my life and I will never forget people who were with me for every tear and for every laugh even in the hospital, beside my bed.

My journey with cancer has not been easy.

On September 15th I finally finished my treatment (chemotherapy and radiotherapy).

I finally survived.

And I will say to all my friends to never give up and to thank God for the good ones before the bad ones because everything from God is a gift.
