As we continue to navigate this new normal, it is fair to say that people will experience a wide variety of feelings and maybe need additional support. While we fully support therapists and reaching out to therapists, there are also some tools that you can try on your own. Disclaimer that this is not a replacement for mental health support.

How to Talk to Your Child about COVID-19

Children’s Mental Health Ontario posted a really helpful article on talking to your child about what is going on. What is so great about this tool, is that they break everything down into steps AND give alternative resources at the bottom of the page, which are all child friendly.

Keep Your Mind Grounded

During these times, keeping your mind grounded is so important. This worksheet is a helpful reminder to stay grounded both mentally and physically.

Mindfulness Tools

Staying with the breath, moment by moment is another way to stay grounded. One way to do this is through various mindfulness meditations. This website offers many free mindfulness exercises. Some that we would recommend include the Loving Kindness Meditation and Starting the Day With Gratitude.
